Westboro Baptist Church Finally Pickets The Right People!!

After discovering the existance of a Gay-Straight Alliance at Missouri's Clayton High School, the Westboro Baptist Church announced that they planned to picket outside the High School on Monday, February 6th.

But these very very clever kids, decided to start a Phelps-A-Thon and are asking for donations to be paid for every minute that Westboro Baptist Church pickets.   The monies raised will then be donated to the Human Rights Campaign.

CHS has a very informative web site up with details of the protest here, with guidelines for signs and t-shirts for all participants. Please note that the official theme of CHS' response is "Love Conquers Hate," and that the Gay-Straight Alliance requests that everyone "be respectful and mindful of the decisions that CHS students are making as they plan this event."

These kids need to be applauded for their actions and their inginuitity for turning Hate in LOVE!!  Their website has a place where you can donate either by the minute or just a lump sum!  I did!
