Fake Cop Allegedly Forced Man To Perform Sex Acts

Police say that they have arrested a man who posed as a cop in order to force another man into performing a "sex act" on him. 27-year-old Queens resident Julio Olivares was booked last week and charged with a criminal sex act and criminal impersonation of a police officer. Couldn't he have just signed up for Grindr?

Police allege that Olivares approached a male victim in a gray SUV on June 16, 2010, and displayed a gold, police-type shield and instructed the victim to enter his vehicle. Olivares allegedly (and oddly) told the victim that he looked like one of his confidential informants, then proceeded to drive to a nearby parking garage where he forced the victim to perform a sex act on him, police said.

In September, two Brooklyn men, one of whom is an auxiliary police officer, were charged with impersonating police officers to kidnap and rape a prostitute. Last year, an aide to Assemblywoman Carmen Arroyo was caught impersonating a cop while trying to rob an apartment; and a NJ resident was arrested for impersonating a police officer and raping two women in a cemetery.
