Crybaby Glenn Beck Boycotting Levi Jeans

Earlier this week, The Huffington Post reported that on Glenn Beck's Wednesday radio show, Beck said that he was not happy with the recent ad campaign 'Go Forth' by jeans maker Levi Strauss and vowed to never buy another pair of the makers jeans.  He also stated;
"It's hard to believe that a company associated with America and working-class values would use global revolutions and progressivism to sell their products, but that's exactly what Levis is doing in their new commercials.  Unfortunately, they aren't even trying to disguise their efforts to commit to the progressive cause."
The commercial aired during the Monday night football game and among many serene and beautiful shots of people relaxing also shows young people walking up to police in full riot gear, marching, and running through clouds of what appears to be tear gas or some form of crowd control smoke.  The jean company states;
We spoke with consumers worldwide and resoundingly the themes of "youthful optimism" and "hopefulness for a better tomorrow" rang true.  The scenes in the Levi's commercial were in the spirit of positive action and optimism. Any suggestion that the campaign is an attempt to glamorize the unlawful riots in the UK is inaccurate and irresponsible.  The campaign was developed in the Spring of 2011, prior to the UK riots.  The campaign is currently running in markets throughout the world, including Europe and the UK.
Although the Go Forth campaign was delayed from debuting in the U.K. because of the London riots and the UK version of the ad running does not include rioting scenes.

Kris Marubio, a spokeswoman for Levi's stressed that the images of rioting were shot at a government-sanctioned event in Germany in May.  "They are not taken from London  or the Middle East, where the so-called Arab Spring did indeed inspire Levi's."

Crybaby Beck's is always trying to boycott something and I for one think that the campaign is a brilliant idea.  Levi Strauss is a jeans company built and made exclusively in the U.S.and being inspired by the uprising and outcry for freedom and democracy seen in the past several months couldn't be more patriotic.  As one person said, Beck won't have to buy another pair of Levis because the pairs he already owns will last the rest of his life.  Other comments on his website said that they agreed with his view and would buy the Wrangler brand from now on.  Wrangler has not made a pair of jeans in the United States since 2005, how very 'American' of them.
