Your Downton Abbey Daily!!

Last week we heard rumors that the writers of the hit series, Downton Abbey were planning on killing off one of the main characters in season 3.  Which wasn't good news at ALL!   Now, the Daily Mail is reporting that the incomparable Maggie Smith has asked the creators to write her character out during the 3rd season.  I absolutely love the series and just can't imagine it without The Dowager Countess.   Luckily, the creators released a press statement yesterday that the Countess isn't going anywhere, no even an extended vacation.  Such wonderful news!!  To celebrate this wonderful news, the HuffPo has given us 10 Life Lessons from the Dowager Countess.

#10.  "We can't have him assassinated ...  I suppose"

#9.  "Don't be defeatist, dear. It's very middle class."

#8.  "I mean one way or another, everyone goes down the aisle with half the story hidden."

#7.  "No Englishman would dream of dying in someone else's house -- especially somebody they didn't even know."

#6. Lady Sybil Crawley: "No one ever learned anything from a governess except for French, and how to curtsy."
Dowager Countess: "What more do you need?"

#5.  "Well if she doesn't, we'll just have to take her abroad. In these moments you can normally find an Italian who isn't too picky."

#4.  "No fortune? He's lucky not to be playing the violin in Leicester Square."

#3.  They didn't used to exist, as the Dowager Countess revealed when she demanded to know, "What is a 'weekend'?"

#2. Cora, Countess Of Grantham: "Are we to be friends then?"
Dowager Countess: "We are allies, which can be a good deal more effective."

#1. "No one wants to kiss a girl in black."
