Well last night at the Golden Globe Awards, it was no acception and from reading all the stories which are blasted all over the blogosphere this morning, it appears that Elton came to the party in a pissy mood and ready to fight. While walking the red carpet last night, Elton & his husband David were stopped for a interview by the 'E' Channel and when asked for a prediction regarding who was going to win for Best Original Song, Elton replied;
Elton: Madonna hasn't got a fucking chance of winning.
Carson Daly: Those are fighting words.
Elton: No, they're accurate words.
Of course later, Madonna sauntered down the red carpet and was stopped by Carson and told her about Elton's comments;Carson Daly: He had a choice word about you … He said you don’t have an F-ing chance.
Madonna: Oh, damn him. May the best man win.
So flash forward to the awards and as we have all now seen or read, Madonna won for Best Original Song for "Masterpiece". Immediately after winning, Elton was caught on camera making the "looser face" and his husband David Furnish took to his twitter account to tweet his disgust in his hubby loosing to Madonna.
While Madonna was backstage being interviewed by the press of course the question came up regarding the win over Elton, "How does it feel to beat Elton John?' to which Madonna replied;
"I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years. He's known to get mad at me...He's brillant and I adore him, so, he'll win another award. I don't feel bad."
{Rainbow's 2 Cents} I adore them both and have been a HUGE fan of both of these icons for a VERY long time. However, they both need to realize and remember that they millions of fans around the world who love and adore them and really don't give a piss in the wind as to which one of them actually wins an award. We are just really happy that they both are recognized for their amazing talent and very hard work. Congrats to them both!!
