Song Of The Year!!

This week marks 52 weeks (an entire year) that Adele's huge hit song, 'Rolling In The Deep' has been on the Billboard's Top 100 and after 52 weeks it is still holding strong at #30 on the charts.  This has been practically an unstoppable song.  Many believed that her follow up single 'Someone Like You' did not move as quickly up the charts because of the huge success of "Rolling".   And now with 4 singles on the charts, Adele is poised to be at the top of the charts for much of 2012.  The entire album ' 21' continues to remain at the top and has spent 14 non-consecutive weeks in the #1 spot.  It has just this week risen back to #1.  With 14 weeks, Adele ties Whitney Houston's  debut album for the most number of weeks at #1 for a female.  If she makes it to 15, she will tie Celine Dion with her 'Titanic' soundtrack.  But to rise above and take the #1 spot she will have to beat 20 weeks in the #1 spot which is held by Whitney Houston with the 'Bodyguard' soundtrack.  Ironic that 21 will have to go 21 weeks.  Adele, her album and all of her singles just continue to go and be better week by week.  We shall see what the next month brings!!
